Taking time off from the gym

Sometimes life gets in the way and you have to take some time from the gym. Unless you are focused on having a career in the fitness industry, there are other priorities in your life that take first to the gym. For most people who are obsessive about the gym, like myself, it’s disappointing when you cannot go to the gym because of school or work. For me, it’s mainly school that gets in the way. I have a lot of projects to work on, I have an organic chemistry 2 quiz every Monday that totals for a 20% of my overall grade, and lab reports to work on with a group, on that same Monday. Despite that though, I do get to the gym at least 3 times for a week. The times when I am out of the gym, are when I have an important exam coming up.

So for the past week, I have been out of the gym and I haven’t worked out. After my last midterm, which was Monday, I have relaxed and just focused on recuperating mentally, while I prepare myself to start back the madness all over again tomorrow. Thankfully though, I am going back to the gym and plan to hit my chest and biceps.

In a few weeks, I am going to be focusing on my recomping my body, which I have been doing lately but as the semester comes to an end, I will have more time to focus on my diet, training and getting to my ideal physique even sooner.

One reason I wanted to write this very quick and short post, is to show that even the best of us have to put the gym last and focus on other aspects of the gym. Do not feel guilty if you have to skip the gym. We’re not sponsored athletes who make money from going to the gym. In fact, the gym is just our hobby and sometimes we have to put our hobby on hold, so our life can flow much more easily.

Keep tuned though because as soon as I have more time, I will be putting up my workouts, caloric intakes, the supplements I am taking while I am working towards my fitness goals, my lifts, pictures, etc. I am sure a lot of people will be interested in keeping up to date with that. Maybe you can even fine tune your own training around mine or keep up with me, with whatever challenges I give myself. I am sure it’d be very, very interesting ๐Ÿ˜›
